BCCI Secretary informed about the decision of the Governing Council

BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said in a statement on Friday, “The decision was taken by the IPL Governing Council after due consultation with all key stakeholders after most of the franchises expressed the concerns and sentiments of their players as well as the views of the broadcaster, sponsors and fans. The BCCI has full confidence in the strength and preparedness of our armed forces, the Board deemed it appropriate to act in the collective interest of all stakeholders.”

Sakia said, “At this critical juncture, the BCCI stands firmly with the country. We express our solidarity with the Government of India, the Armed Forces and the people of our country. The Board salutes the bravery, courage and selfless service of our Armed Forces, whose heroic efforts under ‘Operation Sindoor’ protect and inspire the nation as they give a firm response to the recent terrorist attack and unjustified aggression by the armed forces of Pakistan.

He said that cricket remains a national passion, but nothing is more important than the nation and its sovereignty, integrity and security of our country. The BCCI is firmly committed to supporting all efforts that protect India and will always maintain its decisions in the best interest of the nation.
